The Holy Spirit inspired our blog.

Wednesday of the Thirteenth Week in Extraordinary Time

When Jesus came to the territory of the Gadarenes,

two demoniacs who were coming from the tombs met him.

They were so savage that no one could travel by that road.

They cried out, “What have you to do with us, Son of God?

Have you come here to torment us before the appointed time?”

Some distance away a herd of many swine was feeding.

The demons pleaded with him,

“If you drive us out, send us into the herd of swine.”

And he said to them, “Go then!”

They came out and entered the swine,

and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea. where they drowned.

The swineherds ran away,

and when they came to the town they reported everything,

including what had happened to the demoniacs.

Thereupon the whole town came out to meet Jesus,

and when they saw him they begged him to leave their district.   Emphasis mine.  Matthew 8: 28-34

The above reading always caught my attention, ever since the communion service we held at Holy Cross Church in So. Portland, decades ago.

What jumped out at me then and now is Jesus even answered the prayers of the demons.  The demons pleaded with him,

“If you drive us out, send us into the herd of swine.”

And

Jesus answered, he said to them, “Go then!”

Fr. Ripperger is the founder of the community of The Doloran Fathers, a small group of Priests who perform Exorcists throughout the USA. We have written about him in prior blogs, and we have quoted him as saying that the demons have no control over you, if it is NOT ALLOWED by God the Father, and the reason God The Father ALLOWS the DIFFICULITY is to bring you CLOSER to THEM.

Sadly I have had people tell me they will probably go to hell, and this is sad because they feel somehow they can stick it out.

How stupid.

If hell were tolerable, then why did they ask to be sent into the swine herd, and not hell?

They cried out, “What have you to do with us, Son of God?

Have you come here to torment us before the appointed time?”

Fr. Ripperger also said and we repeat, the fallen angels had FULL knowledge of God, and their sin of disobedience was final. We, he pointed out, are STUPID, and this is our saving grace if you will.

But,

Being stupid and staying STUPID is not in our best interest because we are missing life here and now that could be filled with Love, Joy, Peace, indicating that we are working to build a relationship with God.

Listen to the whisper of The Holy Spirit, and ditch your will and submit to the will of your Father, and find a new and exciting life here and now.

Prayer:

If you want to grow in Love, Joy, Peace this is a result of growth in Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control.

Sidebar:

Once again , Gail and I want to thank all of you who prayed for Gail’s full recovery.  She is progressing very quickly.

At the V/A I was bringing Communion to those who can’t attend the Communion Service and met Gene, who was also written about in a prior blog.

Gene couldn’t make the service so I went to his room and we talked for a few minutes, and Gene indicated he had a bad back due to an injury.  I also just found out Gene is ninety years young.  We said young because I would have put him in the early eighties.

I was stunned.

Gene decided he would spend his time, 6 am to 4pm with an hour for lunch, making wooden toys for kids in need.

When I walked into his shop he was building a doll house.  Which he told me later would take a month to complete.  He was waiting for the wall paper, and wood for the furniture.

I instantly realized Gene had a choice, accept what had happened, since the loss of the use of his legs, and move on, or stay confined in bed complaining about anything and everything.

And

That brings me to another patient who I saw after Gene, and he greets me with complaints about the institution etc..

We got him smiling, and then we laid into him telling him in a very loud voice, “Make up your mind, be mad or happy, because your smile doesn’t match your anger.”

This man, who is a great person laughed, we continued to pound on him, and when we left he was all smiles.

Gene is dancing with God.

The other man was dancing with satan, until we turned him around.

 Is he a bad man?

No.

He has just picked the wrong dance partner, which we pray will change soon, because the reality for both men is they are in the same place, one chooses to do something constructive with his time, and the other doesn’t.

I also believe Gene’s time goes by faster because he is helping children. The other man has told me a number of times that the time goes by slowly.

News Flash:

As you all should know I am a huge YouTube fan.  Yesterday I clicked on a video by a soccer fan from Europe, visiting the U.S. and the fear he had coming was replaced when he had spent some time here by relating many positive things about our country that blew me away, and I believe he’s right.  We and everyone else in the world gets told the wrong story about our country and its people by the local, national, and foreign press, and it was nice to hear comments from people who have come here and are blown away by the people, scenery, and food.

Do yourself a favor and go on YouTube and watch some of these videos.

We are BLESSED to know the Triune God, and live in this “Fantastic” country.
