Let the children be fed first.
For it is not right to take the food of the children
and throw it to the dogs
.

I am amused and amazed how Jesus uses analogies. While he calls us his children, he also implies that those that don’t follow him are dogs?! Is that true? But dogs are loyal and loving animals and worlds best pets!

As an animal lover of non extreme kind, I believe he still loves those who dont have faith but implies we would always pick a crying baby over a howling dog. And since we are so lucky to have children, we can be fed – with the word! His words! We can be fed every sunday with His body and blood!

While I watch all my cancer patients respond and move on with life, I can easily empathise with what they go through. I know how a good word and a cheerful smile from the doctor can make them happy! It is scary to watch them sob when the news is broken to them and worse when they know there is no cure.

As children of God we are blessed with direct access to the Lord. Let us utilise it for the greater good!

PRAYER:

Into your hands I submit my life, help me Lord to fulfill this hunger of spirit with your Word!

AMEN.
