Monday of the Fifth Week of Easter May 4, 2026: Don’t look at us, look beyond us

In today’s Gospel from the Gospel of John, Jesus says, “Whoever loves me will keep my word… and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.”

God doesn’t stay distant—He comes to live within us.

But in the first reading from the Acts of the Apostles, the people misunderstand this. After a miracle, they think Paul and Barnabas are gods. They see God’s power—but misidentify His presence.

We can do the same. We look for God only in big, dramatic moments, and miss Him in the ordinary. Yet Jesus tells us God dwells in those who love Him and keep His word—in quiet faithfulness, in forgiveness, in daily acts of love.

The Holy Spirit helps us recognize this. God is already at work in our lives—not far away, but within us.

The question is: do we notice Him?

Have a wonderful week
