We are all in this together!

It is extremely important in any society that an individual has rights. We enter life completely dependent on others to survive. That does not stop when a person becomes an adult. As adults we take care of our children who in turn may take care of us when we are too old to take care of ourselves. Still, we get to heaven on our own merit. We do it as a human being with a soul. Every human or every soul is in the same ark called Earth. Our journey is with and for others, Our mission is to not only get there ourselves but to help others get there along the way.

For as in one body we have many parts, and all the parts do not have the same function, so we, though many, are one Body in Christ and individually parts of one another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them.

What are my gifts?

My wife, Anna, will tell you that writing is not one of my gifts. My Mother-in-law, Rita, was an English major. There are some things that wWe are good at. I try to tell jokes or bad puns and make people laugh. Again, my lovely wife says to not quit my day job. We all have gifts in various degrees of proficiency.

I don’t excel in any one thing. I do try to be a good husband and a good neighbor. Anna and I live in a senior community. We recently had a party on a Sunday afternoon. It was not to celebrate anything but life. There was a total of 15 people, and everyone brought some type of finger food. We talked for about 4 hours. I loved to see the animation on everyone’s face. It was good for community and good socializing.

We need others. The winter months can be the most joyous and with some souls in can be vesry lonely. Loneliness is one of the most devastating plagues to our human emotions. It is ripe territory for the Devil to attack us.

Let love be sincere; hate what is evil, hold on to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; anticipate one another in showing honor.

Yes, anticipate! The Devil knows when we will or can be most vulnerable to his undermining of our spirits. My sister, Patti, once confessed after her divorce, that she felt the loneliest was in a crowded room of people. It is not easy to anticipate what others experience and how the Devil is attacking.

Mark 16:15 Go out to all the world and tell the Good News. I think we as a people can and must anticipate the Devil’s ploys. Take a widow or widower who lost a spouse. Holidays, Birthdays, Anniversaries or any day can be a reason for the Devil to attack. If we are to show honor to our fellow humans, we have to not only say hello and have a good day, but we also have to look at their situation.

It is hard not to be superficial. We, ourselves, have problems. Nonetheless, to love one another, we as a people of one Body must reach out to others because we are all in the same boat. We all are responsible for helping others to our real home in Heaven.

God Love You Always
