People must think of us as Christ’s servants, stewards entrusted with the mysteries of God.
My dad was a good man and probably one of the most charming people you have ever met. H was the consummate salesman. He would remember your name and your family members. He was very personable. He was a convert and always made us promise to get my mother to church. My mom never drove. We always went to church and left right after Mass. I didn’t know that some churches had coffee and donuts after Mass. I was in college by the time I found out.
My dad donated money to church but never volunteered. My sister and I did that and then some. For some reason my sister and I always found way to volunteer in choir, committees, and friends. I gave rides to so many co-workers so they could keep their job. I would give money when I had it to friends.
This brings up the question of what a true servant is?

I believe in the Holy Trinity (Matthew 28:16-20) We are to Baptize the world in the Holy Trinity’s name. Transubstantiation says that the bread and wine are the Body and Blood of Christ. The operative word “is’. (Luke22).
Our Faith is not as complicated as it seems. Some things can not be fully explained until we are face to face with Jesus. Nonetheless, our Faith allows us to accept all things because we know that from our Baptism, we were entrusted with a duty to help others and we are also the keeper of the flame of the Holy Spirit who is the Great Comforter.
When I can I like to go to a fine restaurant and enjoy a good meal, but not only the meal. The service is just as important. Jesus doesn’t want us to be perfect. Our meal is His body and blood. Our heavenly meal at the banquet of the Lord in Heaven awaits us. We are human and make mistakes. He does want us to account for the gifts He has given us. Some more than others.
The Holy Spirit will advise you as to the servant job that He wants us to do. Like any job we have to do the best we can to be the perfect servant. Jesus wants us to proclaim His Gospel with what we do and what we say.We have been given a job to do it the best we can with the gifts that He has given to us.
