“The Lord is my light and my salvation”

Water in motion.

Picture by Jerry Torres

…having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.  – Hebrews 10:22

The Holy Spirit inspires our blog.

Memorial of Saint Charles Borromeo, Bishop

R. The Lord is my light and my salvation.

The LORD is my light and my salvation;

whom should I fear?

The LORD is my life’s refuge;

of whom should I be afraid?

R. The Lord is my light and my salvation.

One thing I ask of the LORD;

this I seek:

To dwell in the house of the LORD

all the days of my life,

That I may gaze on the loveliness of the LORD

and contemplate his temple.

R. The Lord is my light and my salvation.

I believe that I shall see the bounty of the LORD

in the land of the living.

Wait for the LORD with courage;

be stouthearted, and wait for the LORD.

R. The Lord is my light and my salvation.

Emphasis mine  Psalm 27:1, 4, 13-14

According to Google AI, King David wrote this during a time of stress when he was being pursued by King Saul or his son Absalom, and King David was stating his greatest desire was to live in unbroken fellowship and communion with God’s presence, in the Tabernacle.

The Tabernacle was where God was present. I, yes I, just recently realized that God is present in my life all of the time as long as I am doing my Father’s will by listening to the Whisper of The Holy Spirit.

We are blessed because God does talk with us when we shut off all of the outside noise and listen to the whisper of the Holy Spirit.

For us then, the house of the Lord includes all the beauty that surrounds us, and living in Maine we are surrounded by lots of beauty – the Ocean, lakes and mountains to mention a few.

I also believe King David had the Holy Spirit infused in his soul. But King David didn’t know about the Holy Spirit. This is how  blessed we are to know there is a Holy Spirit, that The Holy Spirit was infused into our Souls at Baptism. And The Lord is my light and my salvation.

Prayer:

When satan knocks at your door,   Pray:   “Jesus for you.”

Sidebar:

This past week in the jail we had a Muslim in our Bible Study group who seemed more than interested in what we were  talking about.  Towards the end of the meeting I found out he was Muslem by asking who was Baptized in the room.  He said no, “I’m a Muslim.”

We had been talking about The Holy Spirit, and we indicated to him that to change and become a Christian was no easy task.  His family will disown him, and he will become an outcast with his family and friends.

He nodded, so I have the feeling he is thinking about this.  Why would he be considering a change?

I have thought about this since our meeting and the real difference for me, is the Cross.  Mohamid died on 6/8/632  of an illness or fever (GAI)  Jesus died on a Cross taking our sins with Him.

The Muslim through good deeds can cancel out bad deeds, but the question in my mind would have to be how many good deeds would I need, and do I have enough to cancel my bad deeds?

For the Christan our sins were nailed to the Cross, sooooo many might think I will just keep sinning.  No, we are not implying this.

Because, if we live a life listening to The whisper of the Holy Spirit we are living a life filled with Love, Joy and Peace.  And, once you experience this, you will never want to return to your former life, and this in part was what we told the Muslim in our meeting.

We are talking about A RELATIONSHIP with God, and as  a Catholic we are also given the opportunity to touch God, Jesus, when we receive communion.

How special is that!!!!! –

We decided to share with you that I do use Google AI for spelling, punctuation, and helping me find a Bible verse. BUT we go to the Bible to print out the verse we find. If we do use Google AI it will be noted (GAI).  I believe in a while this type of disclaimer will be needed on all created works.
