Wednesday, May 13, Bonus Edition

The Holy Spirit inspired our blog.

What does the statue say to you?

Once again we are doing something new. I Love it!

Background:

Friday is when I submit our blog to A Catholic Moment to be published on Tuesday. I thought I pushed the right button, and to my horror the blog went out at once. We sent out a quick note as to what happened, and said there would be no blog for this week.

That didn’t sit well with The Holy Spirit, and when I went up for lunch the above picture appeared on our Framco ( a digital picture frame that has over twelve hundred pictures stored on it), and I knew this would be this Wednesday’s blog,

But,

The blog will be different.

I saw this statue in Acapulco when Gail and I did a Panama Canal cruise, and I am still very moved by it.

So

This week we are asking all of you to reflect on the above picture, and decide what the artist is trying to convey to you,

And if you would be so kind send a comment or an email as to what you came up with that would be wonderful.

Prayer:
If you want to grow in Love, Joy and Peace this is a result of growth in Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control.

  1. Hi Fred. Excellent forum and concept. In the photograph, I see Our Lord and Savior waiting to lay His life down for mankind. He willingly went to the Cross to wait for the crucifixion. For me….

  2. It reminds me of Fred’s prayer “Thank you for the nails you took in your hands and the nail you took in your feet for my salvation.” A prayer I say daily as I kiss our Lord on the cross.

  3. I see Jesus contemplating and praying to Our Father and asking forgiveness for all his people who have lost their way! Praise to Our Lord and Savior! 🕊️

  4. The statue reminds me of myself, when I doubt myself. Am I really doing what the Lord wants from me? Then my faith reassures me that I am.

  5. Even though I am sometimes afraid Lord help me to pick up my cross daily and follow you knowing that you are always there to carry me when I need you. Jesus gives us hope.

  6. After the horror and the pain of death comes the quiet… and the need to trust in the Father for the next step.

  7. After Jesus has laid down his life for us, He is being thankful for his resurrection and eternal life with his Father. He is giving thanks and praise for God ‘s presence during His agony in the garden and through his crucifixion.

  8. Lizzie, never forget it’s not me it’s the Holy Spirit that provides me with the concepts. Peace Fred

  9. Jonathan, I fail totally in Humility, BUT I am working hard to change. Peace Fred

  10. Being a glass half full to overflowing type, I see Christ at the exact moment of His resurrection triumphantly rising off the cross for us men and for our salvation!
    God Bless Fred.
