Wednesday, June 28, Remain in me, as I remain in you, says the Lord;

The Holy Spirit inspired our blog.

Remain in me, as I remain in you, says the Lord;

whoever remains in me will bear much fruit.

Jn 15:4a, 5b

The reading from John 15  is the Alleluia refrain before the Gospel reading.

It’s amazing how a few words can convey so much information.

The above is a statement and an invitation for a relationship, and if a relationship is formed, our choice, then there is much to be gained.

I read or heard this reading for years, and until now, I didn’t fully understand what was being discussed.

The first line states God is already in us, and we know this.  As Baptized Catholics, we have the Holy Spirit Infused in our Souls.  Our Father wanted us, and our Brother created us.  We are not a lucky meeting of a random egg and fast-swimming sperm as I had thought for many years.

It only makes sense that God, who wanted us here and now, would not abandon His creation but would be with that creation from the start.

And,

This is what the first line, “As I remain in you,” for me starts when we were born and ends when we Jump on the Hallahajua Train Home to be eternally with God.

The challenge is the first three words, “remain in me,” and the next question has to be

Why?

So we can “Bear much fruit.”

The Fruit God is talking about is Love, Joy, and Peace.

Tim Gray talked about in today’s reflection that we live in turbulent times both in the Christian Churches and our society.

Christians are being mocked in our society for trying to live as Jesus showed us how to live during His lifetime and death on His Cross.

We pray you will realize God has always been with you, and you will choose a better life by imitating His Son, doing the will of His Father, and growing in the Love, Joy, and Peace of the Holy Spirit.

If you want to join Team Jesus, try praying.   “This is the day the lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.”

Sidebar:

In the top part of our Blog, we ask you to join in the battle that has taken place since the birth of Jesus by choosing a better life, that is, living in the “Spirit World.”

You are 10 years ahead of me, Fred. I find ever more that the relativism, individualism, and absence of absolute truths is wrecking our society in Britain: so sad. Living in ‘the Spirit World’ is amazing.

I confess to having stolen something from you – first thing every morning (and later), thinking of “This is the day ….. “ with a smile.

I look forward to each Wednesday’s  ACM. Keep writing them forever (do we still write in Heaven?)

Thank you, Fred. Many views have changed for me since reading your blogs. My view of difficulties, hardship, and even physical challenges. They seem to have taken a back seat to joy, belief, and Holy exuberance. We thank you for bringing out the Holy Spirit in all of our hearts and lives…life’s too short to be grumpy and miserable when the grace and joy of God in Christ Jesus is abundant. Peace, my brother.

We are in a fight; Jesus won. We have to hold the ground that Jesus won through His Crucifixion.

  1. Fred – I want to thank you for sharing your weekly reflections – especially for your powerful messages and insights which you convey. Thanks again to you and your fellow writers at a Catholic Moment for the great insights which I look forward to each day. Keep up the great reflections!

  2. Thank you Fred. We look forward to your Wednesday reflections that bring awareness and understanding to the Gospel. This connection to daily life brings us a joy and “smile” that only the word of God can deliver. Peace with you my brother.

  3. Thank you Fred. Your enthusiasm and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is infectious!

  4. Thank you Fred. Needing God and your reflections especially today as I’m struggling with unknown anger. Thank you God for the anger. Please change the anger into a blessing, that I can find what’s creating the unrest and give it to You. God, what a wonderful way you have created for me today to depend on you.
Fred, I hope you have a beautiful 4th of July.

  5. You are so right, the hard part is “remain in me”. I find it so easy to become angry, resentful and at times jealous when I look around the world at what is going on and see many people suffering and then others living seemingly joyful, peaceful, and not a care in the world lives. Thank you for reminding me to allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in me and fill my soul with His love, joy and peace and to leave that other baggage behind.

  6. Great daily message ! Hope you’re feeling well and continue to be strengthened by the Spirit.

  7. Thanks to you Fred, I often am saying “Get behind me Satan!!” Your insights have opened many new ideas and much understanding.

  8. Ted , you again brought a smile to my face today,
in south Africa, people normally greet each other
saying , Hello how are you? the reply is, Im fine how are you?
for the past 18 months, ive answered , Im full of the Joys of Life,
What a difference, you always get a positive responce and a big SMILE,
keep up the good work ,and stay safe.

  9. Thanks, Fred. I am honoured by you mentioning me (pause to check ‘Pride’). I was able to buy your book on Amazon UK: other British readers can too.

Tomorrow I am speaking to a regular ‘12 Step’ group of friends: most react badly to the words ‘God’ and ‘Church’ – their bad experiences and fears, and sad ignorance of the Good News; despite 6 of the Steps referring to God! They know I am Christian and try to speak of the wonders of God in a sensitive way. Like you I ask the HS to give me the words; you & I cannot persuade anyone, but the HS can.

  10. Pip, you are right on with your comment. Thank you for being the first to purchase God thoughts 2022. You’re the best. Remember when they attack be filled with JOY, that’s what Jesus said, and that also means you are doing your job. Love it! Peace Fred

  11. Thank you Fred! The reminders you and the Holy Spirit give me each week inspire me to continue being who God created me to be. Right now its a caregiver full time for my husband. I never struggled so much in my life, knowing he will not be physically well. The Holy Spirit is prompting me to feed my husband Spiritually.
Please everyone pray for us to allow God and His Grace to carry us with His strength Faith and Hope in love peace and joy.✝️🙌

  12. Robert, it is amazing to me how the world reflects you if you don’t reflect the world. Peace Fred

  13. David, Thanks to the Holy Spirit encouraging you to try what we are talking about. Peace Fred
