Wednesday, January 31, He was amazed at their lack of faith.

The Holy Spirit inspired our blog.

Memorial of Saint John Bosco, Priest

Jesus departed from there and came to his native place,

accompanied by his disciples.

When the sabbath came he began to teach in the synagogue,

and many who heard him were astonished.

They said, “Where did this man get all this?

What kind of wisdom has been given him?

What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands!

Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary,

and the brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon?

And are not his sisters here with us?”

And they took offense at him.

Jesus said to them,

“A prophet is not without honor except in his native place

and among his own kin and in his own house.”

So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there,

apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them.

He was amazed at their lack of faith.

Emphasis mine, Mark 6:1-6

Notice they ask:

What kind of wisdom has been given him?

What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands!

In asking the above questions, they acknowledge what Jesus has said and is doing, but listening to satan, they shut out all that Jesus might bring into their lives by not accepting the truth.

The Truth is that Jesus is the Son of  God.

They haven’t gotten to the point of accepting Jesus as someone who can change their lives.  They are tied up in their agenda and don’t have room for someone to give them a better life.

That was not just true in Nazareth, it was true with the Pharisees and other leaders of the Jewish people who didn’t want to change their lifestyle to find and live a better lifestyle.

And,

It was true with me for seventy years.

For seventy years, I thought I was living in Love, Joy, and Peace, but in hindsight, that statement wasn’t true,

A richer Love, Joy, and Peace would only be available when I changed my attitude and said I would be a follower, not part-time but all the time.

Please don’t think I am anything but a sinner. Every time I fall off of the wagon, I sin.

But,

I have become more of a conscious competent, and now realize all that is available to me by accepting a new lifestyle, life in the “Spirit World.”

How about you?

Are you holding back from committing for fear of what God will ask you to do?

Don’t imitate the Nazereens and shut out a God of Outrageous Love who only wants the best for you and your family.

So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there,

apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them.

He was amazed at their lack of faith.

If you would like to protect your family, dumb question, pray Psalm 91 verbally.

My life changed after reading Peggy Joyce Ruth’s book, Psalm 91, God’s Shield of Protection, Military Version.  Every day, I say this powerful prayer for everyone in our life, including the writers and readers of A Catholic Moment.  Paperback at Amazon is $8.

Our prayer is that you will spend $8.89 on the pocket edition, $7.99 Kindle edition, and spend three minutes each day saying this prayer to protect your family.

Cumberland County Jail:

Last week, Tony came back into our meeting.  You might remember Tony was the man who instantly learned the “Nine.”

Three weeks later, he hadn’t continued to repeat this power prayer.  I guess he figured once was all he needed.

satan!

We jumped all over him, and I pray this week will be different.

Over the past two weeks, we have received many requests for a copy of Psalm 91 and the other prayers we have discussed.

Wow!

I’m pumped!

Two thoughts:

The request for the prayers started after we printed Linda’s email to me.  I believe this shows the power of a second person telling of the success they have had by saying these powerful prayers.

If you see a change in your life, please write us so we can tell others about it. Your email might motivate others to try the suggested prayers and watch their lives change for the better.

I bet Linda never thought she would be a catalyst for change in other people’s lives because of her email.

For the past two years, we have reported changes in my, now our life.

I am sure that satan tells many of our readers that I am some kind of a religious nut.

I am, but I have arrived at this point in inches rather than miles.

For example:

In my fifties, I learned about healings from a woman whose breast cancer was healed, and I asked God why haven’t I had any healings.

I started praying for healings and have experienced many.

Fast-forward to last year: I started saying the Prayer, “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad.” I can’t picture beginning a day without saying this prayer.

A few weeks ago, I started reading the bible IN BED after my cousin Janet mentioned it in her email.

My, our day, is not complete until I have talked to God using all of the prayers we have talked about in our blogs.

Our second thought is:

Try one of our prayers, and don’t stop saying it from this point on and see if change doesn’t also happen in your life,

For example, say, “Thank you, Father,” every time something positive happens. Some examples: getting home safely, having food choices, and having your house or condo warm.

And

If you see a change, and we know you will, email us so we can all share in your Joy, and then try another suggested prayer.

If we print your email, we will only use your first name.

Share the Joy of your change!
