Wednesday 12/22 My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord.

Gail & I at Lake Tahoe for a wedding

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;

my spirit rejoices in God my savior.” Luke 1: 46-47

Our Post is Inspired by The Holy Spirit.

On Tuesday of last week, I thought we had almost finished this post.

Wrong!

Let me explain.

I am a Eucharist Minister and bring Communion to parishioners who are sick.

I received a call four or five months ago asking if I would bring Communion to Charleen.  Charleen had cancer and was undergoing chemo.  I said, “I would.”

The first time we met I explained to Charleen what I had just learned from a book the Holy Spirit had encouraged me to buy on bookbub.com.

Bookbub.com sells e-books for one day only, the books they offer are; free, 99 cents, $1.99, and $2.99. You can pick the categories you want.  I signed up for religious and military books.  I have bought over two hundred books in nine years.

Six months ago I bought The Healing Power of Holy Communion by Joseph Prince a Minister in Singapore with over thirty-three thousand people attending his church.  As I read the book I was blown away by what he said.

When we, Holy Spirit and I, went to see Charleen I related some of what I learned from Stephen Prince.

“When you receive Communion the wine is changed into His Precious Blood, which I am sure you knew, and the Blood of Jesus washes away our sins.”

We didn’t have any wine, but we believe as Catholics that the Eucharist is both the Body and the Blood of Jesus.

I also learned that the bread, which is broken by the priests at Consecration, changes into the Body of Jesus, and the Body of Jesus starts the healing process.

Jesus healed everyone who asked!

God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit want you well!

But,  and this is a big BUT,

Charleen, “You, in this case. have to truly believe God wants to take care of you.

This is very important!”

she said, “She did believe,” and I felt it in her answer.

I am now fully convinced that a lack of faith will not help a person seeking a cure.

In fact, that’s what it says in the Bible;

So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there, apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them. He was amazed at their lack of faith.  Mark 6: 5-6

We, the Holy Spirit and I, also explained what I learned from Father Richard Rohr, a Franciscan Priest.

When the Eucharist is placed in our hands, we are touching GOD!

Jesus!

And because God is a Triune God, One God Three Persons, we are also touching The Father, Son, Jesus fully human, Christ the Divine Son of God, and The Holy Spirit.  I had never realized this until I just typed it.

Wow!!

The Holy Spirit working in my life.

And we are also invited into a dance with the Triune God.

The Triune God we worship is a physical God.

Consider,  everyone who touched Jesus and asked to be healed, was healed!

Our relationship with God has changed from what I thought was a Spirit to Human relationship to a Physical, Human, Jesus, to a Human, me, relationship.

The history of Man tells me this is truly unique.

Throughout the entire history of man, name me any other god that you can or could touch,  the Greek gods No, nor Roman gods, even The Jews couldn’t touch God;

As they reached the threshing floor of Nodan, Uzzah stretched out his hand to the ark of God and steadied it, for the oxen were tipping it.  Then the Lord became angry with Uzzah; God struck him on that spot, and he died there in God’s presence.  2 Samuel 6: 6-7

This verse always troubled me, but after learning that when we receive Communion we are touching Jesus, the above verse tells me how special we are, living after the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Wow!

It’s now five months later and I went today to give Charleen communion and Charleen announced she was HEALED!

Yes Fred, HEALED!

She had been to her Oncologist yesterday and he reported she had No cancer, and all her levels, except her Iron level, were where they were supposed to be.

And we proclaimed the greatness of the Lord and rejoiced in God our Savior and healer.

What was really interesting to me, as I drove home celebrating her healing, I recalled that our first post was about a Baptist Woman who was healed and answered the question, “Is He the One?”

What a day!

When you go to Mass on Christmas celebrate the fact that you can touch God, Jesus, and you are invited into a dance with Them.

If you didn’t realize before this post that you’re Touching God and you are invited into a dance,  as I hadn’t for more than seventy-five years, then the Holy Spirit is working in your life.  You had a choice, read our post and consider what was written, or delete it.  If you chose to read our post and consider what was written, I would suggest that you should also realize that the Holy Spirit is working in your life, and now we pray, you will thank God the Father for this insight.

If the above statement is true, celebrate, as you walk down the aisle, to receive Communion on Christmas, that you will soon be holding Her precious Son in your hands, as Mary did, on that first Christmas day.

Merry Christmas!

We pray you will grow in the Love, Joy, and Peace of the Holy Spirit by growing in Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.

Sidebar:

I know this is a little late, but we didn’t want to add any more to last week’s post, so we decided to wait until this week.

If you are looking for Christmas shows that are Jesus centered I would suggest The three Shows put out by The Chosen.

They are The ShepherdThe Chosen Christmas SpecialThe Chosen Christmas Special 2021.

Why these shows? They are only about Jesus, not Rudolf, Frosty the Snowman, etc.  It’s a combination of music, short reflections, and a film about the birth of Jesus.

Very Powerful!

Now the hard part.  How do you find these shows?

Option 1.  On your computer go to Google Play or Apple App Store, I know nothing about Apple,  and download the app  The Chosen.  You can then select the shows, and watch on your computer or link to your T.V.

Option 2.  I  have ROKU and can’t talk about any other service, but I think they are similar.   a. On ROKU, search for The Chosen and save. It’s Free.  b.  On your Phone, go to Google Apps or Apple App Store, and download The Chosen app onto your phone.  Also Free.    c. Turn on the T.V. click on ROKU then click on The Chosen  d.  Click on the app on your phone and cast to your T.V.

Note: If you have a Samsung Smart T.V. or any other smart T.V., I Googled the question “how do I cast The Chosen onto a Samsung Smart  TV?” (I just copied and pasted the italic area and was directed to the right websites) and two responses came up.  I don’t know if they work.

The Chosen is an eight-year series about Jesus.  The first multi-year series ever!  They have been filming for two years, and the third year will be filmed in 2022.  This whole enterprise is crowd-funded, and they have reached over 320,000,000 people to date.  I do believe you will be very happy you spent the time to learn how to get The Chosen on your T.V.

Two other notes:

  1.  Because this is crowd-funded, no ads, Dallis Jenkins, the man who created the shows and concept, will spend ten minutes talking about items you can buy to help fund future shows.  Gail and I have participated in this.
  2. The first episode presents some of the people, Jesus, Peter, James, etc. you will be watching over the next eight years, in settings that are different.  Be patient, watch episode 2 and it will start to make sense.  Actually, I have watched episode one at least five times. It’s Very Very moving!

I am in a faith group that is watching an episode every other week and discussing it.  We have had some very interesting discussions.

Enjoy.   Fred

WOW! That just blew me away,
That opened the eyes of my heart wide open THANK YOU

  2. Your reflection drew me to tears as I have been drawing closer to Jesus in my prayer life and have asked God to show me how He wants me to serve Him. Thinking about how close I am to the Trinity, especially Jesus when I receive Him in the Eucharist, makes me even more excited and anxious for Christmas Mass. Thank you, thank you….The Holy Spirit has spoken to me through you.

  3. Thank you Fred. I am moved by your reflection. Have a blessed Christmas and I will be watching The Chosen. Peace my brother.

  5. Thank you Fred for a very inspiring reflection. It has touched me deeply. The awesome wonder of the consecration of the bread and wine into the Body and Blood and the Truine God so close when I receive Holy Communion. Thanks for opening my eyes and heart to the splendour of the Sacraments offered by the Church. Loved how you explained the healing power of the Eucharist but we must have faith to receive this gift of healing. You shared so much to ponder on. God bless you Fred. Happy Christmas to you and your family.

  6. Thank you for your reflection, Fred. It was wonderful to hear of Charleen being cured of cancer. Please pray for me and for all of your other readers at A Catholic Moment who have cancer and ask God to cure us and to be with us always.

Merry Christmas to all and the best to all for 2022.

As you let God take over your life you will be filled with an even greater Joy and Peace. My biggest problem was not being patient enough. I found God works in God’s time NOT your time.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Fred
