Thursday, July 9th 2020: The Kingdom of heaven is at hand

As a gynecological surgeon, the most important feature is my hands.. from examining patients, to diagnosing complications, the act of operating and the skill of instruments.. to the art of delivering a baby comfortably out of the womb to suturing close the wounds and tears created…

Although it is my brain which technically sends the nervous impulses through my spinal cord to my limbs, the sense of touch helps me to make informed decision which benefit the patient at hand…

But it wasnt always this way, it has taken me years of training and practise to finally gain perspective and appreciate the normal from the abnormal and detect complications. Instructions given in text books and training from senior doctors, nurses and a lot of trial and error enables me to be the doctor I am today.

Today Jesus preaches the instructions to the disciples ,

Cure the sick, raise the dead,
cleanse the lepers, drive out demons.
Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.
Do not take gold or silver or copper for your belts;
no sack for the journey, or a second tunic,
or sandals, or walking stick.
The laborer deserves his keep.
Whatever town or village you enter, look for a worthy person in it,
and stay there until you leave.
As you enter a house, wish it peace.

While I follow these instructions at my Job on a daily basis, I have not had time to realise how difficult those instructions are to adhere to especially when there are so many temptations hovering around us. This is easier said than done… we all need to try to adhere to His instructions.. feed the hungry and cure the sick!!!! atleast try to be happy and loving at home .

PRAYER: Dear Lord , today I put forth my aching soul and heart for you to fill my emptiness and spread the word of the Lord! Amen

  2. I regret that your reflection appears not to have been posted at the regular time and so may have been overlooked by many yesterday. Thank you for your simple message and prayer. if directions/instructions are set out clearly and concisely, they are much easier to follow. Certainly there is no need to speculate as to what is trying to be said. thank you.

  3. Please be nice to the good doctor. She’s relatively new here and her writing continues to be better. What’s the old cliche “Better late than never”.
    There is no telling what threw our good doctor off schedule yesterday.
