My master is long delayed,’
and begins to beat his fellow servants,
and eat and drink with drunkards,
the servant’s master will come on an unexpected day
and at an unknown hour and will punish him severely
and assign him a place with the hypocrites,
where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.”

The sneak attack from God!

We all have watched videos of animals or small kids left with their favourite treats or candies unsupervised and recorded to watch their urge to resist the temptations as the time passes! So much like us awaiting for the Lord to come down and judge us!

While so much of us is tempted on a daily basis to discredit the Lords teachings and live our earthly lives with no care! The arrival of the Lord at an hour unknown is a warning enough for us to start mending our ways!

I have been struggling with this all my life, we have been trying to get into the worldly system for acceptance and then trying to stick with the faith and virtues and it is extremely hard to please both! We need to put our faith first and work hard to stick by it irrespective of the cost!

Let us show our interest in following scripture by reading, understanding it and avoid falling prey to worldly instant pleasures.

AMEN

  1. Hi Dr. Analise. Yes. This is tough to do and with God’s help and with the intercession of Our Lady and St. Joseph, we can ” just do today”.

  2. Thank you Analise. The day will come when we are called. Let us prepare ourselves and our souls for examination with good works and deeds. Peace with you my sister.

  3. All you say is so true! Thank you. Any prayer warriors out there… Please pray for my brother in law Harry who is getting his leg amputated today due to infection. Thank you all!

  4. Thanks Analise for your thought-provoking reflection. Yes, we often get carried with our everyday cares, we forget about God. Let us ever be mindful of our ways…repent, forgive, and total trust in God…all to the glory and honour of our Lord.
Will keep Harry in my prayers.

  5. I also have been influenced by “worldly pleasures” my whole adult life. I confess, repent, and fall again and again. I do all the things every saintly person suggests, yet I fall over and over. But I have not lost faith or hope. I know my Lord and Savior is waiting for me to come back. And I do…over and over.

    Prayers for Harry.

  6. As a friend of mine said after recovering from a life threatening illness, “He’s not finished with me yet.” God is patient and our lives are a pilgrimage, sometimes only slowly getting closer to the great heart of God. Jesus be with Harry.
