Jesus answered him, “No one who sets a hand to the plow
and looks to what was left behind is fit for the Kingdom of God.”
Past 2 weeks have had me a bit stressed cause of my health concerns and I finally took a break from work to sort it out. Yet to determine if my situation needs any major intervention, but for now would appreciate all the prayers and support.
I am amazed everyday when I watch my patients, breaking news to them of cancer recurrence, diagnosis of cancer and even how we cant do any surgery at present – the patients sob cause they dont worry about themselves but are concerned how their kids and families are affected with someone to leave jobs or move cities for caretaking.
Unlike the other side of the world , in India we need family constantly around during such events – one off person who doesnt have family will have to show proof that the caretaker is reliable and trust worthy to take decisions for the patient.
So when todays reading mentioned how everyone wanted to sort their personal issues before they proceeded with following Jesus – I can empathize with them too.
Unfortunately, Jesus wants us locked in in our faith and as a healthcare worker I can find this hard to do. I need to sort out how my parents going to manage, do they have the support – social, financial and emotional! I know my oarents are praying and stressing about my health right now as I am like 25000km away from them in location.
lets just learn to focus on Jesus more and make Him the centre of our lives.
