Thursday 12th August 2021 – Whisper of faith …

As a child we would play a game called the “chinese whisper”, no relation to china, however it involved one person whispering a statement into the ear of the neighbor who in turn whispers what he heard into the ears of the next person and so on and so forth. Eventually what is heard by the last one in line is usually very different from the original statement.

While it is a funny silly game it is based on the fact that as humans we tend to perceive and receive information in any form and interpret it as our own version. Often we misunderstand text messages or even signboards or a conversation as per what we conclude should be or maybe the outcome.

In todays Gospel, I see alot of myself in the debtor, while he was begging for forgiveness from the Master, he did not transfer the exact same emotion or sense of forgiveness to those who owed him… instead he treated them harshly. When life can lash out at us and we seek the Lords help in our hopelessness, we often forget to whisper the exact same emotion into the others we live with or meet with. We instead interpret the entire situation as a saving grace or miracle in our personal life that we forget that there is a purpose.

As energy is transferred from one source to another , let us as christians transfer or rather whisper our faith to another.

PRAYER:

Dearest Jesus, I am unfaithful and selfish with your love. I do not share it with the others nor do I forgive them for their past like you do to me. Guide me Lord to focus on being in your faith every living moment and help me to be an imitation of you!

AMEN.

  3. Thank you Dr. Analise . Each week is such an honest expression spoken plainly and clear. Not an easy thing to do. Lord help me to as compassionate and patient with others limitations as you are with me and mine. Namely anxiety and fear of failing to please others resulting in abandonment. My focus should be on pleasing you and peace knowing I am safe with you and you will never abandon me.

  4. I too share this guilt. Let us pray for each other to be overflowing with God’s mercy and forgiveness.
