Christ has in fact been raised from the dead

Our Gospel today is from Luke. Jesus made His way through towns and villages preaching and proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom of God. This started my thinking about the Kingdom of God and what it means to me. In Luke 17:20-25 The Kingdom of God will not be able to be seen but is all around you.

I ask myself, am I missing something? The world does not look like Heaven to me. Then I prayed and thought some more.

The Kingdom of God that Jesus is speaking includes everywhere that Christ rules. It includes Heaven and earth. The miracle that connects us is the Resurrection. When I was younger, I often wondered why priests and nuns seemed so at peace. As I matured I saw that the Kingdom of God is in the homeless and pandemics.

The only difference is that in Heaven we no longer suffer death or sin. The Kingdom of God is all around us because we belong to Christ. That is why Mary Magdalene, Joanna and Susanna supported Jesus’s ministry on earth. They saw that wherever Christ was they saw that the Kingdom of God was there.

So today look around you and be at peace because the Kingdom of God is all around you. But Christ has in fact been raised from the dead, the first-fruits of all who have fallen asleep. Because of the Resurrection we no longer suffer death. Because we are in the Kingdom of God we are at peace with all the world gives us. In God’s Kingdom we are always alive and always at peace.

We have politics and pandemics to face but we are at peace in the Kingdom of God

God Bless you Always
