walk in the fog

Blessed the man who follows not the counsel of the wicked nor walks in the way of sinners

We walk down many roads in our life. Every day we have choices. We can choose to do good or bad. Yet some of our choices demand wisdom. Wisdom is vindicated by her works.

Today I am working on a craft project of sorts. The apartment that my wife, Anna, and I live has one wall that does not have good insulation. It is a bathroom. In any building it is hard to go back and add insulation. My wife had a great idea and it was to add a thin layer of insulation to the inside and of course it has to be pretty. Wisdom is vindicated by her works. My project my fail.

How can we ensure success in the things that really matter in our lives?

In God’s wisdom we have commandments to follow that will ensure our happiness.

We don’t use the rules of soccer to play football. It would cause chaos. So many people in my family and friends have ruined their lives by not following the rules. They suffered divorce, substance abuse and total disaster in their lives by making their own rules. Isaiah writes If you would hearken to my commandments, your prosperity would be like a river and your vindication like the waves of the sea.

So why does mankind try to change the rules?

Here again we have vindication leading to wisdom. We may not be successful going down every road or that but happiness and wisdom come from following the rules and following that straight path that God has designed for us. My craft project may fail, but if I follow God’s commandments I will receive wisdom and happiness. If I make my own rules as I sometime have, I will fail.

The reward from following God’s commandments are great. Your descendants would be like the sand, and those born of your stock like its grains. Their name never cut off or blotted out from my presence.

God Bless You Always
