The Psalm is of course referring to the Jewish nation in the Old Testament.
I, yes, I also feel it applies to our nation, and it has since its founding.
Why do we say this?
I read the book The American Miracle by Michael Medved. In his book he relates miracles that have happened and I feel are happening that have forged our country to the force for good that it is.
I am fully aware that many will say the above statement isn’t true, and yes I am also fully aware of the many shortcomings of our country. We are told this nightly in the evening news.
But
If you believe all that is in the evening news you are making a huge mistake.
I recently found a series on YouTube called Foreigners React, and it tells stories of foreigners who came to our country, afraid of the crime, and every other negative aspect of our country, fed to them by their press, only to be shocked at the LOVE, love that word, they have been shown by ordinary American citizens.
I believe the reports because the reports also talks about what is happening in their country, and express the fact that they also do good,
But, they are different
And
This report shows the difference between countries and it is an eye opener.
The best story so far, and they are all good, was of an Ohio Widower:

I pray you will watch this story, and others, because it’s a story about Love, which is why I believe Blessed the nation whose God is the LORD, and the God we worship is a God of Love who told us to Love our Neighbor, as we love ourselves Matthew 22:39

Europeans Watched a Whole Airport Stop for One Old Man in a Wheelchair – Then Learned Who He Was. (type in the YouTube search bar)
This is a story of a European Family arriving at Baltimore Airport to witness an Honor Flight arrival, and the reaction of many of the passengers in the airport when they saw the Veterans go past them.
We are mentioning this because I have been given the privilege to take an Honor Flight starting on September 18 and returning on September 20.
This all started when Gail and I were leaving her Doctor’s office, and a man I didn’t know noticed my NAVY hat and said he had recently been on an Honor flight, and I should apply. I did, and they had a cancellation and I was asked to go this month.
This for me is God working in my life.
Why?
In the book The Coldest War By James Brady, the author states at the beginning of the book, and I will paraphrase The WW II men returned home with parades and honor, The Korean War Vets returned home to nothing, the Vietnam Vets returned home to be spit upon and called “Baby killers.”
I personally didn’t have either of the above reactions put upon me,
BUT,
I also believe America is a family, and when you spit on a service member, and call them “baby killers” you are spitting on me and calling me the same name. In short I have taken this very personally.
I have always felt our military has some of the finest people ever to serve, and by calling our troops “Baby Killers,” only helps the enemy, and in the end costs us more deaths.
God’s hand is involved in my going on the Honor Flight, and I pray it will be a cleansing weekend for me. What has also helped me is learning more about our country from the Foreigners React series on YouTube.
Never forget: America is the home of the Free because of the brave.
