Wednesday of the Third Week in Lent
Moses spoke to the people and said:
“Now, Israel, hear the statutes and decrees
which I am teaching you to observe,
that you may live, and may enter in and take possession of the land
which the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you.
Therefore, I teach you the statutes and decrees
as the LORD, my God, has commanded me,
that you may observe them in the land you are entering to occupy.
Observe them carefully,
for thus will you give evidence
of your wisdom and intelligence to the nations,
who will hear of all these statutes and say,
‘This great nation is truly a wise and intelligent people.’
For what great nation is there
that has gods so close to it as the LORD, our God, is to us
whenever we call upon him?
Or what great nation has statutes and decrees
that are as just as this whole law
which I am setting before you today?
“However, take care and be earnestly on your guard
not to forget the things which your own eyes have seen,
nor let them slip from your memory as long as you live,
but teach them to your children and to your children’s children.”
In our life, I believe at times it is very important to review in your mind when God acted in your life.
For example, I thank God every day for telling me to call Gail, when I thought I was really interested in another woman. Fifty-Nine years later I am a Joy fill man for listening to God and doing what God told me to do.
I thank God for the Joy of owning my (and that’s where the problem started) own business. As we have said many times, I leaned on God when I needed them, and then threw them under the bus when sales picked up, and believed (satan) I could do it on my own.
But why is it important to review the past?
If you have read the Old Testament you know that the instant Moses left to go up the mountain, the Jews turned on God and started worshiping false gods.
In this case God was mad on two fronts. They worshiped a golden calf, and the second reason was, the best they could do was a golden calf? They saw God wipe out the Egyptian army, in which they did nothing, and they formed a calf as the God who performed this mighty deed.
But that was four thousand years ago, how about you.
Who is the God you worship?
There’s an easy test.
What do you spend most of your time thinking about?
We would suggest that whatever it is, if it isn’t God, then what you spend your time thinking about is your god, and you’re no different than the Jews in the Old Testament.
But,
Once you realize this, God working in your life, you can change!
Over the past four years we have suggested many ways you can enrich your life.
Try one!
And don’t stop, add another, and as you feel the Joy increasing, add yet another, and never stop.
Joy is one gauge I use to let me know if I am dancing with the Triune God or satan.
EASY!
Prayer:
If you want to grow in Love, Joy and Peace, this is a result of growth in Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control.

What an interesting Blog this has been for me to write. A story I, yes I, wanted to tell, the Holy Spirit didn’t, I finally realized this when I couldn’t find the Bible quote I was looking for. (Notice all the I’s)
We have a better story.
Sunday at the Veterans Home after holding a Communion Service, we next went around the wards to give Communion to those who weren’t at the service.
Gene I had met, I think almost a year ago, and when we first met, Gene said he didn’t want communion. The Holy Spirit told me to go back every time we held a Communion service and just talk with him.
As I think we reported on Ash Wednesday, he wanted ashes put on his forehead, and received Communion at the same time.
Yesterday I found him in his room and he wanted to receive Communion, and when we asked him if he would come to the service he said he would.
What he doesn’t know is that The Holy Spirit put the thought into my mind that when we go to our next Communion Service we will go twenty minutes earlier, and try to get all the people who can come and don’t, come to the service.
Why?
We would be getting a larger turnout, and this encourages others to come, and participate in the service which is beneficial for the others and them, and it is also better than staying in their room.
I’m laughing right now because I, yes I, just realized why we didn’t tell the first story.
I love, and am filled with Joy because of this ministry.
