Immersed in Love

A look around the world and we may find it difficult to see the truth – the truth that we are immersed in the divine waters of love. It can be no other way. The God of the universe, who created each and every one of us and the entire world, is the God of love. He loves us so much that he not only gave us his son, he testified on his son’s behalf so that we would come to know his son.

It was his son, Jesus Christ, who came through cleansing water and perfect sacrificial blood so that we could live immersed in love. This made him the perfect One to deliver us from all pain, all hearthache and yes, all evil. The same Jesus who is the substance that holds the entire world together, is the one we exist within. And when we believe in him we are promised that we will indeed become victors over this world we live in. So what must we do to step into the truth and live as God intended?

For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we too are his offspring.’ – Acts 17:28 (NRSVCE)

Things Are Not Always as They Appear

We must realize the limitations our human senses place upon us. Most of us are blessed with our five senses in which we experience the world; sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. Why God gave us these specific senses as he did is not ours to understand. Yet, we must accept that God gave us these specific senses so that we could come to know him and understand that we are immersed in love. If we follow our senses it seems that we could find and come to know God – right?

Well, not so fast. Have you ever been “fooled” by your senses? Mine have certainly fooled me a time or two (or more!) Just the other day I misquoted my husband after my hearing let me down. This certainly gave each of us a good laugh. So if we can be misled by the five senses that we are aware of, then can we even begin to imagine the vastness of God’s love? After all, God surely has more than five human senses. He has a love that infinitely exceeds our capacity to understand such love through our human senses because his love can only be fully understood through God himself.

Heaven Tore Open

In our Gospel God reveals to us the limitations of our human senses when the heavens were opened. All along the heavens were present at the Jordan, yet, they were invisible to the human eye. God chose this moment, the baptism of his Son, to reveal to the world a glimpse into the vastness of heaven.

“And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him.” Mark 1:10 (NRSVCE)

You see, we can never comprehend the vastness of God’s universe and his love. Yet, we are all immersed in love because God is Love, Jesus Christ is Love, and the Holy Spirit is Love. It is love that holds the entire universe together and we are all immersed in the divine milieu of love – even when our senses fail us.

Trust In Jesus

We are left with no option but to follow the One who came so that we might live – Jesus Christ. When we do he will heal us of or wounds and reveal to us the truth that we are immersed in love from the moment of our conception until the moment we take our last breath and beyond.

Immersed in Divine Love

I understand that sometimes my readers are in a rush (I get it); and yet, some want to read more (I get that too!). Given this I have expanded on today’s theme in my blog. If you would like to read more I invite you to visit my post titled “Immersed in Divine Love”. In it I share how you can escape from the pain and heartache that so many of God’s children needlessly suffer from today. Here is the link: Immersed in Divine Love

I hope you find your way home towards the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ – the one who is love himself. May you speak and think words of love, forgiveness and mercy as you sing and praise of God’s glory! – Carolyn
