Jesus said that we must CARRY OUR OWN CROSS in order to follow him. Oh, how difficult that is. I rarely plan details for the future any more, I try to enjoy each day, but at the same time try to reflect on the obstacles - and there are many - that separate me from God. God bless our families, friends, neighbors, and all who touch our lives.

I am embarrassed to admit that I just finished planning out the next three busy days hour by hour. How short sighted is that! Thanks for knocking on my head so I might enjoy and provide a few hours of peace for my friends.
DC, when I go I know the years dedicated to my mom and her health will have been some of the very best years of my life. That time was a gift from God.

Dear DC, I don't know the answer to your question, but food for thought... sometimes allowing others to care for someone (even though it's definitely extra work) is also a gift to them. I'm sure I speak for many people in the world who would not give up any of the time they spent caring for their elderly parents or loved ones.

This brings to the front my questions I ask my self over and over. Should I not stay in my home, is it selfish to do so. Or is it selfish to place myself with others to care for me so I do not have a home but become their burden? I know I am staying home and so not to burden others, but I do try to help others, is it enough? I don't know the answers but your reflection helps me think on it and to try and understand and do what I can and should for others in this world. Thanks for opening the basket that brings thoughts to the front. God bless you and yours with the Holy Spirit.
