Joe,
nice reflection, thank you. I try to pray a morning offering every morning and it begins like this. “Lord, thank you for all you have blessed me with that I’ve done nothing on my own to deserve. Forgive me Lord for those blessings I do not recognize, but more so those blessings I do recognize but fail to thank, appreciate, those that I abuse, and those in which I do not how to use”.
I am guilty of rushing through my prayers sometimes but I do try to be mindful.
Your reflection helped my to be very mindful today.

Thank you for sharing your time and talents. Though I try to be thankful, it is easy for me to understand why people (many I know and love) who live with mental or physical illness or extreme poverty would have trouble trusting and thanking God. Maybe you could write about this aspect? Life is hard and, I think, God welcomes our questions. Your words are truly appreciated.
