Our Blog is Inspired by The Holy Spirit

Wednesday of the Sixth Week of Easter

After Paul’s escorts had taken him to Athens,
they came away with instructions for Silas and Timothy
to join him as soon as possible.

Then Paul stood up at the Areopagus and said:
“You Athenians, I see that in every respect
you are very religious.

For as I walked around looking carefully at your shrines,
I even discovered an altar inscribed, ‘To an Unknown God.’
What therefore you unknowingly worship, I proclaim to you.

The God who made the world and all that is in it,
the Lord of heaven and earth,

does not dwell in sanctuaries made by human hands,
nor is he served by human hands because he needs anything.

Rather it is he who gives to everyone life and breath and everything.

He made from one the whole human race
to dwell on the entire surface of the earth,
and he fixed the ordered seasons and the boundaries of their regions,

so that people might seek God,
even perhaps grope for him and find him,
though indeed he is not far from any one of us.
For ‘In him we live and move and have our being,’
as even some of your poets have said,
‘For we too are his offspring.

Since therefore we are the offspring of God,
we ought not to think that the divinity is like an image
fashioned from gold, silver, or stone by human art and imagination.

God has overlooked the times of ignorance,
but now he demands that all people everywhere repent
because he has established a day on which he will ‘judge the world

with justice’ through a man he has appointed,
and he has provided confirmation for all
by raising him from the dead.”

When they heard about resurrection of the dead,
some began to scoff, but others said,
“We should like to hear you on this some other time.”
And so Paul left them.

But some did join him, and became believers.
Among them were Dionysius,
a member of the Court of the Areopagus,
a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

After this he left Athens and went to Corinth.

Emphasis mine:  Acts 17: 15, 18-21.1

For ‘In him we live and move and have our being,’
as even some of your poets have said,
‘For we too are his offspring.

Paul was telling the Greeks a very new concept of a Loving God and we live in Him, actually, we live in Them, and they live in us.

Or does God live in you?

Yes, we know of the Triune God, and we go to Mass or Church to Celebrate(?) our life in God.

But,

Do we believe God lives in us?

I am not so sure in today’s world God actually lives in as many of us as we would like to think.

How can you say this, you’re thinking?

Hate, anger, lust, drugs, sex, envy, and the list goes on.

If God truly lived in you, you would know it by reflecting the Love, Joy, and Peace that is the supreme gift from our loving God.

And,

With a little thought on your part, you would realize that because God lives in you, and will tell you the direction in your life They want you to take, you are, “Fantastic.”

And,

When you tell people you are, “Fantastic,” they will take note as we have reported over the past four years.

Never forget, this blog was a ministry I, yes, I didn’t want,  because I couldn’t write, spell or punctuate.  My yes, my involvement, would be a disaster.

Well, as I, yes, I pray you all realized, I am turned on by the increased relationship I, now, we, have in writing Wednesday’s blog.

My being an offspring brings with it responsibilities, which are similar to the responsibilities I have as a husband and dad.

Imagine for a moment, GOD is in me and I, now, we, have a chance to change our world, and the world of those around us.

And,

You also know you are one with God because of Love, Joy, and Peace, anything else and you’re dancing with satan.

Celebrate, we too are his offspring, in a way man could never have imagined before the Life, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus, and the coming of The Holy Spirit at Baptism; though many still refuse to believe in a God of Outrageous Love today.

Prayer:

If you want to grow in Love, Joy, and Peace this is a result of growth in Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.

Sidebar:

We were doing a Communion Service at The Veterans’ Home and once again we talked throughout the service about the Love, Joy, and Peace that are available just for the asking.

As we were walking out with Diane, and Collette they were pumped and since we gave them a few cards (below) they said they would give a card to someone else in their area.

I was filled with Joy at their Joy and their wanting to spread the word.

I also brought Communion to two men who hadn’t attended the service, and after they said the Our Father and received Communion asked each, “Why weren’t you at the Communion Service?”

The answer both gave, basically boiled down to they were lazy.

Well, The Holy Spirit kicked in and we told them that their attendance was very important, because who knows, by just showing up they might have a positive influence on someone else,

And

If they weren’t there in four weeks, we would come down and kick them in the pants, and get them there.

Both said they would attend.

How about you?

Do you feel attendance at Mass or a Church Service for our Prostestant Believers is not necessary EVERY Sunday?

I’m sick should be the ONLY reason you don’t attend Church on Sunday.

If you are away, go to a church in that area. Gail and I did this in Syracuse, New York, and the lector was a woman who could barely speak because of the illness she had.

After Mass, I had to meet her (Holy Spirit) and she revealed to me she had written a book available on Amazon which I bought, (my first Kindle book) entitled Firewalk Embracing Different Abilities by Kathy O’Connell.

Kathy tells how she has cerebral palsy, but her family and she refuse to let cerebral palsy slow her down.  She was a lector who had a hard time speaking, and frankly was hard to understand.

In her book, she made a startling statement that HER normal was cerebral palsy, just as my normal is arthritis, and your normal is whatever God has allowed to bring you closer to them

If Gail and I hadn’t gone to Mass that Sunday an important lesson would have been lost. That being everyone’s normal is different and we make the big mistake of labeling some as being handicapped.

The handicapped person was me, for not seeing God in Kathy and letting her cerebral palsy allow my thinking to feel sorry for her as opposed to respecting and loving her for being a lector,  someone who my Father knew before creation, and who would convict me far more that Sunday for my quick judgement about Kathy, and not seeing what God saw, that Kathy was just like me, Loved and wanted by our Father.

I, yes I love writing our blog.  At the start, and I pray, you believe what we are going to say next, I had no idea of where we were going to write about in both sections and when we finished the first draft, I sat back and said, Wow, I had no idea this is where we would end up.”

To all the men and women who have served our country and paid the ultimate price, may they all rest in the Love, Joy, and Peace of the Triune God, and for those who are celebrating this solemn occasion, “Thank You for your service.”

  1. Thank you for your wise words today. They make me stop and think about what is important. I love the picture of St. Francis in the spring garden.

  2. Thank you for your service Mr Prince to church and country. Peace be with you!

  3. Well often individuals have good reasons to be sad and unhappy and stating one is fantastic doesn’t necessarily make it so! AND while in the midst of sin God does dwell IN various sinners otherwise repentance wouldn’t be available to anybody, ever!

  4. Anonymous,I agree to a point, but, remember satan is always lurking and wants to keep you sad or unhappy, and keep you from being Fantastic, and Fantastic is where God wants you to be. Peace Fred

  5. PK, I agree great picture, proof God is deeply involved with our blog. Peace Fred
