Our Blog is Inspired by The Holy Spirit

Wednesday of the Fourteenth Week in Extraordinary Time

Jesus summoned his Twelve disciples

and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out

and to cure every disease and every illness.

The names of the Twelve Apostles are these:

first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew;

James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;

Philip and Bartholomew,

Thomas and Matthew the tax collector;

James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus;

Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot

who betrayed Jesus.

Jesus sent out these Twelve after instructing them thus,

“Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town.

Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.'” Emphasis mine Matthew 10:1-7

Question, is the Kingdom of Heaven at hand in your life, and if it is, are you proclaiming it?

Life is really easy, once you realize we were put on earth to build the Kingdom of God.  Five words and they tell exactly what we should be doing with our life.

Simple,

Yet, I have found we all hate simple.

It can’t be that easy, many will grouse.

I want to do more, others will say,

But, it is that easy, is the real answer.

Surrender to yourself and your desires and let your Father, through the whisper of the Holy Spirit, direct your actions.

And how will I know I am doing my Father’s will, people will ask?

Love, Joy, and Peace.

Everything that you do that fills you with Love, Joy, and Peace is an indication you are doing your Father’s will.

And,

Anything else is dancing with satan, we, ALL of us, do that way too often.

By proclaiming: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand’ life does get more joyful, because your witness may help someone find salvation.

Prayer:

If you want to grow in Love, Joy, and Peace this is a result of growth in Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.

Sidebar:

I was stumped today as to what to write for the sidebar. It is the first time this happened, then I received an email from Mike, our oldest son, and we had to share it with you, and it fits into today’s blog beautifully, God is Good!

Mike wrote: Since you may not read the text I sent to the golf group this morning…here is the story I shared from my golf game yesterday:

Had to share this….Yesterday, I had 4 double bogeys in the first 5 holes.  Putting my drive on hole 6 into the right fairway bunker, I told the group I needed a priest to do an exorcism on my clubs.  Getting back into the cart, I Firmly put my water bottle in the cup holder and noticed a rattle and pulled out a dirty coin-looking object.  After cleaning it off, it read “The Prayer of Jabez”.  Laughter and a calming peace came over me and I proceeded to shoot par, par, par, birdie, birdie.  Ended up shooting an average score …God is Good!!!

The side on the right reads: Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me, and that you would keep me from evil.

1 Chronicles 4:10

Mike, without knowing it, provided exactly what I needed for the Sidebar because it fit in perfectly with what we are talking about.

Yes, Mike,

God is Good!
