The hymn is by David Haas. It is one of my favorites and very appropriate. I think Thomas was honest in stating his disbelief and God wants us to be honest with him and be able to share our doubts when we have them. Thomas then went on and became a strong disciple through the power of the Holy Spirit and was even martyred. He questioned then became strong.

Thanks for reminding me how like Thomas I am. What would I have said if the apostles had told me about Jesus appearing to them in the locked room after his resurrection? More than likely the same thing. We thank God for giving us the grace to believe without seeing.

Thank you Laura for that reflection. Since we are a family, the mystical body of Christ, it is fitting that we build each other up and encourage one another as St. Paul said. It’s a beautiful thing to be Catholic.
