As always, I come to the ACM site after the USCCB website where I go for the daily readings. Outrageous love indeed! And yet, sometimes I ignore the Giver of that outrageous love. Yes, as you said when referring to the “pearl of great price”, Jesus gave it all for us. Sometimes I put myself in the place of the merchant. I need to “sell everything” to purchase that pearl, which is God’s outrageous love. But like the rich man who went away sad because he had many possessions, I can find it difficult to give up things that I “possess”.
