I have never thought of confession in that way Joe.Thanks for pointing out what should have been obvious to me.All my life I’ve been a reluctant confession goer,riddled with angst and dread at the thought of entering the confessional.I will try and see it in the way you’ve described,just me ,the priest and Jesus.What a great gift.

Atleast i have seen who has the same thought as mine. Whenever i tell people that if they miss the time for confession in church, they can still pray to God and he will answer them, they cast me away forgetting that the priest is also human like us but they represent Christ during confession. And we human also have the power to decree and declare and it will happen, all we need to do is open our mouth and ask for forgiveness.

Joe, thank you for your reflection.
I try to look it and think of the Sacraments in that way but to me, it’s more the feeling I’m looking to achieve. Sad to say, I’ve only hit that “feeling”a few times in my life. I can recall those times when I was deeply immersed in the Sacraments and there’s nothing quite like it.
However, for me, that feeling is not there as often as it should be.
