Thanks for the recapitulation recapitulated, (word?) Steven! (And definition for me too) Like you said our faith seems so simple; loving God, first and foremost, and then others, but as we all know SO very hard to do at times. As Matthew (above) stated, “loving your enemies” seems impossible in our militarized culture. And taking just that one command to heart means a much more complicated and difficult journey than most of us want to consider. Consequences can be very high, but like Jesus showed us the reward is incomparable…

As usual, your reflection is well planned and articulated. You have a wonderful gift.

What caught my attention was a simple word in verse 46…”might”. Makes one wonder, no?

Wow! Thank you Steven. This was just what I needed today. The Holy Spirit has been answering my prayer of showing me more humility, and boy, does He deliver! I’ve been a bumbling fool these last few weeks and I just recently realized why. It is nice to have these reminders to keep me on track. Thanks be to God.

I now clearly see the importance ” recapitulation” in the sacred scriptures. its now been 4 months since I started a spiritual journey to deeper understand my faith in Jesus and the every day reflection reading from this page is helping me understand the catholic faith more deeply. thank you

Great reflection much consoling in it. Thank you. Jesus did a little more than proclaim love God and love neighbor he lived it and taught us to live it. One thing Jesus did in every situation I see which is mysteriously missing from the bible and my belief is we should be taught more on this, he always left peoples dignity in tact. This is one way we can love one another and love our enemy. I had a tough time with love your enemy (trained military here). You may say well he didn’t do that with the pharisees and if you’ll allow me a little poetic license here i’ll say he right sized the pharisees dignity at the same time restoring the level of dignity to the Heavenly Fathers divine plan. If you ask me that’s what my older Brother did. Praise be to the Most Holy Trinity!!!
