Hi again, Steven. My Philosophy prof.once told our class that there is a certain level of dialogue called genuine dialogue. This happens when the persons involved are deeply connected to each other that no words are necessary. Oftentimes, these are the people in love. They have reached this point wherein they just look at each other and they can already convey their love and affection. I think God permits certain events in our life wherein we become deeply connected with Him that we ener this level. In a way, it still a form of prayer since it is still a dialogue.

Hey Steven,

I love Jack.

Why pray at all?

Good question.

I look at our body as an example. Why exercise? Because we are made for movement and it is good for our bodies. You don't have exercise though.

Why pray? Spiritually, our conscience, that little voice in your head telling you what to do, is made to pray. The relationship with God through prayer is good (you don't have to look all that hard in the Bible to realize that). Do we have to pray? No, but it sure feels good when you do.

Steven, keep up the good work. Keep wondering.

Here is a thought. If we truly want and accept God's will in a particular situation, then why pray at all...other than for the wisdom and strength to bear the outcome?

Felt the same way, too, Steve. My dad was on his death bed. My heart felt like it was about to explode. I ran to the hospital's chapel and just sat there staring at the altar. Can't utter even a short prayer. I was just crying, pouring my heart out. Almost an hour after, I left the chapel with peace in my heart, so peaceful that I believe God is in charge. It was then that I've realized how loving the Lord is. I must have lose my earthly dad but never a Heavenly Father.

Steven we pray for the departed because we love them and fear for their souls. Is that not what being a Catholic Christian boils down to, love and concern (fear).
