Thank you Steven. Many excellent points. Certainly the point of encouragement in the faith without going to such an extreme it becomes a turn off. Faith can be delicate, personal and fragile…can we nurture instead of being demanding? That may be the difference for many seeking the good news of our Lord. Thanks for another wonderful reflection. I struggle with some gospel truths that our Catholic faith fails to teach. For example why is Romans 1:26-32 skipped over in the daily lectionary (yesterday’s readings (lectionary 468)ended at Romans 1:25) since it directly addresses a behavior that the secular world embraces and encourages.
Christians need clear direction from their leaders on this topic. Unfortunately it appears the issue that is covered in Romans 1:26-32 is being stepped around by the church leadership in order to appease the secular world.
