What did Jesus mean when he said to Martha, “There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.”

What is the better part? Being with Jesus while Martha did the work? If yes, does that not mean that Martha should have been sitting with Jesus as well even though the work she was doing was important as well? Why would Jesus say that, “Mary has chosen the better part…”?
