So many days, I find myself just babbling through my prayers, distracted by thoughts that have no place in that moment. In the Screwtape Letters, C.S. Lewis states that God wants us “to dwell in the immediacy of the present moment… bearing the present cross, receiving the present grace, giving thanks for the present pleasure.” This would especially be true of our prayer life.
