But in Italy it is seen as the day the Mary was Assumed into heaven. It is a public national feast or holiday in Italy. My cousin wrote to me wishing me Buon Ferragosto. Had no idea what it was. Now I know…and so do you all. 🙂

Here in Toronto, we have a wonderful shrine to Mary, called the Marian Shrine of Gratitude, which has many devoted attendees. It is scheduled to be torn down this week. Please pray that this decision is reconsidered so the many faithful can continue to visit.
