Feeling close to God is not the same as being close to God; St. Teresa of Calcuta felt abandoned by God, but she knew that God is with her always. That’s where the gift of faith comes into action & that is probably part of the reason that she is a canonized saint. Being able by God’s grace to persevere loving Jesus in the midst of the dark night of the soul is something truly remarkable. Most of us need that occasional reassurance of feeling God’s presence near us in order for us to continue in this journey to our Heavenly Home.

Just got thus message sent by a friend. Earlier today as I wrote in my journal I seemed to hear Jesus saying He wanted me to be His Best friend. I have called Him my Best friend for quite sometime but never thought of being His BEST Friend. This was a confirmation that indeed I am His Best Friend as is each person reading this. We are blessed!
