Bob, your words bring hope to me, "What some see as a collapse of the Church may be better interpreted as pruning time. It is easy to overgrown with leaves and a tangle of branches that we can no longer even see the vine."
The Church is all of us and believers everywhere. We need to prune according to our Lord's example. We need to provide comfort to those who have suffered abuse under the knowing eyes of the hierarchy. We, the Church, must take responsibility for the future Church with just systems, inspired by our Lord, to prune the hierarchy from priest through Pope. The world and entire Church needs to see the close relationship of the Church membership clinging to the vine instead of unwieldy leadership who enjoy riches, like the leaves on a vine, and who cover up the abuses of power. The world must see only the pruned branches that are clinging to the vine. The Church membership, by the Grace of God, must do relentless pruning by cutting out those with pleasures, power and prestige in our Church so that we only see the poor nurturing their relationship with God. Amen, Bob!

Thank you Bob. We all could use a little pruning back to let the goodness grow. New growth opens up a new world in our lives and faith. Lord bring on the shears.
