This is so true. So much easier said than done. I can’t seem to escape all the noise.

As Jones Brooks astutely points out, it really boils down to this:

Man (as in humankind) can not serve 2 (two) masters….

Whom will we serve? Another free will/choice that He has given us.

At best I feel that maybe He has/had overestimated us.

At worst I feel that humanity has finally accomplished their true goal. They seem to have successfully elevated not only their bass-ackwards creeds, but have also elevated said cause or person into “deity” status.

We must continue to pray….

Great commentary on a very delicate subject. When put in this context, we are a slave to either sin or to Christ Jesus. We should strive to be slaves to Christ which sets us free when we know the truth of God’s gift of salvation but we still are called to be about His work and work like slaves for Him.

Slavery was widely practiced in the days of Paul, long before the American Heritage Dictionary [or the Oxford English Dictionary, my preference?], so no mystery as to why the great apostle chose this analogy. But to freely choose to become a slave, now that’s hard! Thank you, Dan.
