To A. Repentance, true repentance is being forgiven. Being forgiven by our Lord. Is there a greater joy? By focusing on repentance we are brought closer to God. We should practice repentance 24/7. Celebrating this gift of being saved of Easter is a realization that we are so very much loved by God. Wow what a beautiful time of the year to share with God. Repentance, realization is joy from God to bring us closer to him.

Dan, last Easter, shortly before Pentecost, you wrote a reflection about how you couldn't stand rejoicing and celebrating for that long. You also wrote that you were looking forward to focusing on repentance, and basically, you played out the stereotype of the guilt-ridden Catholic who doesn't enjoy life.

I told you then that there is a season to focus on sin and repentance. It's called Lent. Amazingly, you had just gone through it before Easter, and it's like you had missed the point.

It's Lent again. Please focus on your sins and repent to your heart's content. You can even wallow in stereotypical guilt, if it makes you happy (or sad, whatever you need). Get it out of your system, so that when it finally is Easter, you can rejoice with the rest of us, instead of trying to temper our joy and celebration. Yes, Easter is gloriously long, and so is Lent. But Easter is longer than Lent for a reason. Let's be joyful!

Thanks Dan, for reminding us that a little bit of suffering is not a bad thing. Afterall, Jesus did suffer for us to have a good life with God. Inspiring reflection. Thank you
