Thank you so much for this Mary. I too came back to the Church in the lent of 2014. Confession, mass and the precious body of Christ got me and I knew I never wanted to be apart from the church. This lent has been so tough for me. I’m praying that I keep going forward even when I go back, I need to remind myself that I don’t need to stay back. Thank you. Pray for me.

Thank you for an excellent explanation of today’s readings. I needed to read this TODAY for it has reminded me of my Lenten intentions. I like the analogy (the truth) of the battle between two who are strong – one good, one evil- residing in the heart of every person.

The words of Jesus in todays Gospel are stern. Every once in a while we need this talking to. Knowing who is the stronger man can give us the motivation to stay strong in our lenten promises and our faith. He will win in the end so lets not turn our back. He is looking for our face. God bless you, Mary, and everyone of us struggling to let Jesus win! At the beginning of Lent, I found it worked to do Lent one day at a time; I didn’t tell myself “This is what I’m doing for Lent” but what I was doing for that day, today. Also, kept a journal of what each day brought me (or didn’t). Still have the third week blues, I find, and I’m encouraged by your reflection, that I’m not to give up, I’m not alone in the problem.Thank you.

I too came back to confession after about 15 years of living a life of Godlessness ! The Holy Spirit was the stronger in that confessional and he still protects me today ! I still struggle but I keep trying and by Gods grace I can each day live more and more holy moments and the stronger man will protect me
