Wow! So much conviction in your reflection, Laura, that it makes me think you are being taken for granted. Hopefully, whoever your reflection is aimed at chooses to spend time with you and not just when he/she needs somethimg from you.

Hello Laura, thank you for your perspective and sharing! I think Jesus knew that word would spread about his healings and miracles, even if the healed people didn’t share that it was our Messiah who saved them…our Lord just wanted to cover himself from jumping up and down proclaiming that he was the Savior… people in the towns clearly would have been able to observe the leper was healed by looking at him, so it was all part of God’s plan. I read this today and thought I would share: “And above all, be on your guard not to want to get anything done by force, because God has given free will to everyone and wants to force no one, but only proposes, invites and counsels.”

I was always so confused on why the leper would be so disrespectful after receiving such a life changing miracle. He wasn’t even praising God for the wonderful gift he received, just running around telling everyone. Thank you for the deep reflection. I was having trouble understanding the message of the Old Testament reading. Your explanation helped clarify for me. God bless you for creating and maintaining this site. It is such a blessing.
