A PhD taught me that all of us are prejudiced, which helps us make split-second life and death decisions. It’s when we move into discriminatory behavior in more discretionary and less urgent times allow; that “judging” (a mental or soulful mistreatment of another can take place). As usual Jesus or following The Way requires more intentional and interior movement rather than the outward appearance of compassion. Lord Jesus have mercy on us. Lead each of us, guide each of us. Amen.

Yet in today’s world we have to make judgements for our own safety. Am I risking my safety to go towards that group of people? Should I take a different route? Should I open the door to the stranger standing there? There are too many “weirdos” out there to just trust everyone. We have to make SOME judgements! Lord, help us to make judgements that follow Your will.

Thanks for the reminder Doc.
I liked what Helen said ” being aware”. It is in our own human makeup to be aware of our surroundings – kind of like the fight/flight response.
It seems I can’t be reminded enough “Judge not and ye shall not be judged”.

Thank you Analise for your honest words. I do think trying to be aware of another person’s concerns shows sensitivity and concern, and isn’t necessarily judgemental.

Thank you Dr. Analise. I pray for attitudes that require adjusting. Also, I find that I am the most unforgiving, harsh, and most judgemental to myself. I know I am a child of God and I need to learn to kind and forgiving and patient with ME. It’s a sin to dislike oneself so much.
Healthcare is hard and my prayer is for God to grant you the grace for each situation. Amen

I am guilty, Lord, all throughout my days for being too judgemental to others. But please forgive me and help me to do to others just as you do to me. Thank you Jesus.
