Scammers do all they can to imitate truly needy people. I think it is better to give to someone who did not need help than to not give to someone who really does. You did right.

It’s so hard to know when we are being taken advantage of, or when Jesus has sent us someone to help. But we just have to ask Him to bring good out of every encounter.

Great reflection.

Yes, there are scammers in the USA, but when I’m asked for a donation from someone on the street, I usually give something. I think how horrible and stressful it must be to beg for money in this way and say a prayer that my donation will be used for the best.

Thank you Analise.I am sometimes tempted to say no to people who ask for money .I remember once giving a homeless woman some cash,only to spot her later on in a park,drinking from a bottle of spirits.Not what I had intended it for!
However, now realise that it’s not for me to judge but for me to have a generous heart.As Sandi says by giving,I can walk away with a clear conscience.Have a blessed week ahead.

You did the right thing! The amount of money was insignificant. Material things are not what matters to God, but movements of the heart are what matter most. God sees what was in the heart, yours and hers. If she was scamming you, it is between her and God, when the time comes. You gave, and you will receive, because you allowed God’s goodness and grace to work through you for one of his children. Peace be with you!
