A couple of verses from Roman’s came to mind as I read your reflection. They say,
“In the same way, the Spirit too comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes with inexpressible groanings.
And the one who searches hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit, because it intercedes for the holy ones according to God’s will.”
I always find these verses comforting knowing that God, of course is going to know what’s going on in our minds, including our distractions, worries and preoccupations, but He also knows our hearts. He knows why we may not be able to pray as we ought..
He knows why your prayer life is a wreck right now. In our weakness He is our strength.
