I had been trying to figure out the salt analogy in the gospel. Salting with fire? Once again, your reflections have been so helpful. You never cease to offer me a practical way to apply the readings as I try to live like a follower of Christ. I will keep your closing prayer in my heart today and, I suspect, throughout the Lenten days ahead. Thank you.

Thank you Mary. Jesus ‘salts us with fire’ as a loving way to bring us back to the fold. He allows certain mishaps and problems to occur so we won’t rely so much on ourselves, and come back to needing Him. What a great reflection! God bless.
