Many are invited, but few are chosen.”
As I am listening to the St. Michael’s Lent on the Hallow app, I am being made aware of the life of St. Francis, and it is a story to hear….
I am closing my eyes and listening every morning to
how a man of his stature felt the pull of the invitation to God!
We all are invited every day during our daily lives, the prayers, and mass. We are invited to be better humans and Christians, and finally, few are chosen as representatives to be witnesses to us all! as saints, clergy, or the Pope!
These past few weeks, all my home has been buzzing with are invitations for my brother’s wedding ceremony and reception! While it is the first in my family and everyone we know is invited to participate, we chose few to be part of our true celebration—mass readings, prayers of the faithful, singing a hymn, and raising the toast! Doesn’t make the other invitees any less important—but the chosen ones are significant witnesses in the lives of the bride and groom.
As I am frantically trying to arrange for my clothes and accommodation since my sister-in-law is not Catholic but Sikh and we shall be having 2 marriage ceremonies, I will be witnessing the entire event unfold in two cultures with blessings of two faiths! Beautiful and surreal!
let us acknowledge the invitation and prepare ourselves—chosen or not … let us watch the Lord shed his light and blessings at all who accept the invitation and work towards it … Let’s not RSVP the Lord!
AMEN
