Analise,
We (family of 7) got the “rod” sparingly, but enough to know what it was. It’s called consequences!
I’ve only had to spank my child a few times but not without a warning.
My daughter is now 30 years old and we have a very good relationship.
I’m glad I was not spared the rod – it taught me valuable lessons of consciousness to actions.

Thank you Analise for sharing. I did grow up in a Catholic home with the spare the rod spoil the child. I also had a strong will and good faithful parents and 11 siblings. Mine wasn’t fear Gods wrath but wanting to be in that number when the saints go marching in. Jesus took the wrath away and replaced it with LOVE. Just as my parents were always there, God is always here also. I’m not fearful but grateful. Bless the Lord! Bless all ACM writers and readers. ALLELUIA He has Risen!🙌

Thank you Analise, thought it strange to still fear God’s wrath…s.Romans 3:23 No distinction is made: all have sinned and lack God’s glory…… but Alleluia,Easter! 2 Samuel 31- This God,his way is blameless; the word of Yahweh is refined in the furnace,for he alone is the shield of all who take refuge in him. Alleluia!
