Thanks Analise. I ask that too Raymond. I grew up being told that we are supposed to wear our Sunday's best in church. I would not wear jeans in church, if at all possible. Isn't it written also that when we fast, we don't have to look dismal...like the hypocrites. I also belive that if we look good...we feel good. And if we feel good, we are most likely to do good to others. This may sound superficial, but...I think just like anything...let us be the best of ourselves whatever that is. Let us the do the best in whatever we're doing...from the mundane tasks to the significant ones. Praise be the Lord!

To those who decide to dress shabby especially when attending worship services I have a question, “Why?” If you attend a wedding or are invited to the White House, do you not dress in your finest? So why would you dress shabbily in the House of the Lord God? Would you not consider that as disrespectful?

Thank you Dr. Analise. I like to dress stylish and wear makeup. I get my hair colored every 5 weeks lest the grays show! It doesn't violate my conscience. I keep a budget for it and I buy wisely. I don't feel in my heart that I am better than those who choose to dress in their way, not wear makeup or color their hair. Nor do I feel that if I look a certain way, God gives me favor.
I guess the point is, we don't make clothes, makeup, etc. our worship. Think of all the people who have jobs and careers in fashion and beauty industry!
We share clothes with those don't have and we keep humble thanking God for His gifts. All we have comes from Him. If my children or grandchildren needed something, I would never say " Sorry! Can't help! I saw a pair of beautiful shoes I need to buy!". You would do the very same.
Dr. Analise: Your kind and generous heart is evident.
God bless you!

I love your prayer Analise. Our Lord loves us all equally, and every effort we make to love Him more is precious to Him...He does not favor some over others because the "some" deem to themselves to be more righteous for whatever the reason. Spiritual pride is the devil's favorite temptation/sin for all of us who have faith in God. I know because it's one I struggle with myself so I recognized it instantly when you described it! May God bless you all during this Advent before His coming!

Thank you for the Advent and Christmas reminder...this is about the Christ child and God's gift to his people...no matter how you dress what you look like or where you live. In your heart is where His kingdom lives. Peace and good tidings my sister.
