God is not found in the pages of the bible alone - so true. On Christmas Day I went for a walk and saw a young woman clearing her yard of leaves and other debris. I joked "working on Christmas Day?" She responded "isn't God everywhere around us?" Touché! So true. God is good - all the time!

John doesn't care about the details?!?! John, who gives us the exact number of fish hauled by the Apostles; who gives us this whole narrative about running to the tomb, and who was where and when they went in, or didn't; who tells us that Jesus Himself on the cross had him adopted as Mary's son, thereby making him Jesus' brother; who insists that what he is telling us is the truth and laces his Gospel with so many details, so as to make us believe the that he is telling the truth about the abstract since he gives so many details about the concrete.

John cares about the details and uses them to makes us believe the theology in his writing (see my last point above).
