Skip, the quote (which I believe is from Shakespeare) is “To err is human, to forgive divine.” God does not ask us to forget past wrongs, but neither should we forget the infinitely greater number of blessings the Almighty showers on us every day. Never enable sinful or hurtful behavior, but we also cannot let that behavior or the memory obscure the infinite love of God has for each and every one of us.

Thank you Dr. Analise. I too need to make better boundaries. Doing things to constantly please others is getting me nowhere and builds resentment. I will pray on this so when I give, it is with pure intention.

I think just wanting to forgive is a big step and gives God something to work with in our lives. Even when our forgiveness isn’t perfect.
