But if we are being historically accurate- Jesus wasn’t praising the samaritan’s compassion- he was condemning the clerics immoral gatekeeping. He was a social crusader speaking out against their unethical behavior as well as their cooperation with the Roman Empire, who was busy getting their foot in the door to colonize their land and desecrate their religion.
