I never thought about Mary and Joseph needing anything to travel to Egypt. But of course they did need resources to get there and live there, and the gold certainly would have helped them. And I wonder if Mary saved the frankincense and myrrh in their home in Nazareth and possibly used it for Jesus’s burial. You’ve awakened in me a new outlook on a small piece of Scripture, Bob. Thank you.
