Great reflection here and very well written. I live in Perth, Western Australia and found the Gospel reading eye opening and amazing, despite hearing it so many times in previous years. I think Father Nelsons homily after made it shine through just that little bit more.

Anyway, like you, I am an avid runner. It is approaching 6.30am as I write this before trekking off for my 10km run. I totally agree with you that there is something spiritual I experience. Whether it’s the solitude, watching the sun rising or seeing some friendly faces pass by, but it is a highlight of my day.
